GOLDEN RETRIEVERS BREED INFORMATION

Are you looking for a loyal, playful and happy dog who is easy to train? If so, you should strongly consider Golden Retrievers. Golden Retrievers are renowned for their gorgeous gold coats and large, dark eyes. They have a straight muzzle and are known for being robust. They are extremely popular dogs to own, since they’re family friendly, and remain lovable and playful well into their advanced age. They can quickly adapt to nearly any type of domestic environment, and many owners say their Golden Retriever made their homes and family feel complete!

Golden Retrievers Size and Weight:

Notably, our Golden Retrievers typically grow to be somewhere between 50-80lbs; they weigh somewhere around 10lbs as an 8-week old puppy. Overall, Gold Retrievers are known for being strong and muscular, and will typically fill out around the 18-month mark. They typically grow to be as tall as 20-24’’ inches from the top of their shoulder to the ground.

Golden Retrievers Colors and Personality:

Typically, the magnificent coats of these beautiful dogs will be English Cream (white/cream), golden, light golden, dark golden or cream color. As evidenced by Golden Retrievers being featured in many movies and television shows, they are laid back, obedient and easy to train. Over the years at Hunnington Farms, we have found the females to be more independent than males, and they also tend to mature quicker. Males tend to be a bit goofier, yet affectionate, and may need more time to develop. Either way, you can’t go wrong with a male or female Golden Retriever (the idea that one gender makes a better pet is false), as you will be bringing the most loving, loyal and obedient pet into your home.
